Two ways to connect

Method A — Direct hotspot

- Turn the camera on and wait for the light to flash slowly.
- In your phone's Wi-Fi settings, join the network starting with TKBxxxx.
- If your phone warns there's no internet, stay connected anyway.
- Open iWFCam — the camera shows as Online automatically.

Method B — Bluetooth + router

- Keep Bluetooth on and your phone within 1 m of the camera.
- Connect your phone to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- In iWFCam, tap “+”, choose 2.4G-WiFi, and enter your network password.

Mounting your camera

Magnetic mount

Attaches instantly to steel or iron — hitch receivers, steel tailgates, bumper plates. No tools or drilling.

Adhesive mount

For aluminium, fibreglass or plastic surfaces — fibreglass caravans, horse trailers — use the included high-grade adhesive pad.

Best hitching position

Mount just above or beside the hitch ball, angled down about 45°, so both the ball and coupler stay in frame while reversing.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we hear most, grouped by topic.

Connectivity & Setup

Do I need an internet connection to use the camera?

No. Connect directly to the camera's own Wi-Fi hotspot and it works with zero data or SIM card involved.

Do I need a SIM card?

No — the camera runs entirely over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Can I connect more than one camera to the app?

Yes — add each camera separately, then switch between them from the camera list.

Can I use a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network?

No, only 2.4 GHz is supported. If your router broadcasts both bands under one name, split them and use the 2.4 GHz network.

Range & Signal

What's the wireless range?

Up to 10 metres in open line of sight. Metal trailer walls can shorten that a little.

What happens if the connection drops for a moment?

The camera reconnects automatically, usually within about 20 seconds.

Video & Recording

Can I zoom in on the live feed?

No — the 80° field of view is fixed and there's no digital zoom.

Is there any lag on the live feed?

Barely any — about 20 milliseconds, so the app feels close to real-time.

Can the camera record video?

Yes, straight to a microSD card from the app, at 720p / 30 fps.

What happens if I power off mid-recording?

Always stop the recording in the app first — powering off mid-clip can lose or corrupt the file.

Night Vision

Does night vision show in colour?

No — low-light footage is black & white, produced by the camera's 4 infrared LEDs.

Does night vision switch on automatically?

No — toggle it from the app's settings.

Battery & Charging

How long does the battery last?

About 2 hours of continuous use per charge.

How do I know when it's fully charged?

The orange charging light turns off once the battery is full. Use a 5V USB-C charger only.

Does the camera turn itself off when idle?

Yes, it powers down automatically to save battery.

Weatherproofing & Driving

Is the camera weatherproof?

It's IP54-rated — protected against dust and light splashes.

Can I leave it mounted outside permanently?

It's not built for heavy rain, submersion, or a car wash.

Does it help with hitching a trailer?

Yes — the live view makes it easier to line up the ball and coupler while reversing.

Mobile App

What's the app called, and does it cost anything?

iWFCam — it's free, with no subscription.

Does it work on both iPhone and Android?

Yes, on phones and tablets, via the App Store or Google Play.

Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for the most common issues.

Camera won't connect, or shows offline

Check the camera is powered on and the light is flashing slowly (setup mode). Confirm Bluetooth is on and your phone is within 1 m with no obstacles during pairing, or that you've joined the TKBxxxx hotspot. If the connection dropped, allow about 20 seconds to reconnect automatically. Restarting the camera, app and router clears most issues.

Weak Wi-Fi signal

Move the camera and phone closer together. If your router broadcasts 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under the same name, split them and connect to the 2.4 GHz network directly.

Camera won't charge

Use a 5V USB-C charger only — anything higher isn't supported. Check the orange charging light comes on, and turns off once the battery is full.

SD card not recognised

Format the card to FAT32, or try a different one (128 GB max). Only insert or remove the card while the camera is powered off.

App can't find the camera

Put the camera back into setup mode (light flashing slowly), stay within 1 m of it, update the app to the latest version, and restart Bluetooth on your phone.

Forgotten Wi-Fi password

Reset the camera to restore the default password, then reconnect from the app.

Night vision image looks dark

Open the app's settings and check the Night Vision / IR switch is turned on.
